The first 2022 NBA playoff game between Brooklyn Nets  (BKN)  vs Boston Celtics was arguably the most anticipated. Brookly Nets were expected to step up after the last loss against  the Boston Celtics. They tried; Hard! In the end, just a the last minute, the unpredictable happened. In fact, like in the previous game against the Celtics, Brookly Nets had a rollercoaster game and overcame a huge deficit, but ended up losing.   It was again really another competition between Brooklyn Nets' Kevin Durant and The Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum.  The Celtics beat the Brooklyn Nets, 115-114, and  Jayson Tatum stole the show, once again,  winning 31 points on 9-for-18 shooting against  Kevin Durant's 23 points on 9-for-24 shooting.

The last time Brooklyn Nets  (BKN)  faced  Boston Celtics, Kevin Durant  scored 37 points, way below Jayson Tantum's 54 points. The game followed a come back in shape for Kevin Durant who had been on the sideline dealing with a knee injury.

This time, expectations on Kevin Durant were higher, given that the injury was in a back mirror.  Kevin Durant was backed by Nicolas Claxton,  Goran Dragic and Kyrie Irving.

As before, Jason Tatum, 24,  supported by Jaylen Brown, dominated the game.  He solidified the expectations from Celtics' fans and others, who have continued to scream "MVP", at each of his scoring during  the repeated  outstanding performance. His 31 points on 9-for-18 shooting were another outstanding achievement.

At the end of the third quarter, Brooklyn Nets were down by 11 points, with  14 turnovers. In the fourth quarter,  the Nets managed to take the lead with a 15-2 run,  with the performance of  Irving, scoring 18 points of his game-high 39 points, with six assists, four steals, and five rebounds.

In the final 11 seconds, Marcus Smart  outplayed the Nets with the  sixth assist, dribbled past two  Nets converging towards  him and dished  the ball to Jayson Tatum, who scored and  allowed the Boston Celtics to win Game 1 with 115-114 points. The win  gave Boston Celtics a massive sigh of relief and confidence as they head into Game 2.

Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Boston.
